When it comes to politics, it seems as if everybody has an opinion and in many cases, those opinions can get heated. This is true of anyone, including those who are constantly in the public eye.
We got a glimpse of this recently when the White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt went toe to toe with Whoopi Goldberg, the talk show host on The View. It wasn’t long before the exchange went viral, and people couldn’t help but laugh at the straightforwardness of Leavitt.
Leavitt has been known to take a very straight approach to politics and she has no fear when it comes to speaking her mind. Recently, she was a guest on a live news segment and they started talking about The View. Of course, the hosts of that talk show were not far behind in the conversation.
Before much else was said, Leavitt started roasting Goldberg with a verbal jab. She probably was holding it in for quite some time because Goldberg has been very outspoken about her opinion on Leavitt and current events.
Leavitt said: “Whoopi Goldberg, who can barely keep a straight face on her own show, is now offering advice to the nation? If I wanted to hear uninformed opinions on live TV, I’d just tune into The View—oh wait, I already do!”
Having this type of comment come from such a notable figure is going to take you off guard, to say the least. The host and many others in the studio had a difficult time containing their laughter after she said it.
It wasn’t just the fact that she had such an opinion, her delivery was just as good as any comedian. She threw some humor in it but at the same time, she got her point across with a verbal slap across the face.
If that wasn’t enough, she also began to make fun of the reputation of the show for having heated debates, and because they are focused more on drama than on the truth.
As the clips of this interview went viral online, people began coming forward with their own opinions on social media. Leavitt has many fans who praised her for standing up for herself and giving The View exactly what they deserved.
Anyone who was a fan of The View was not very happy with the remarks and even thought they were unnecessary and disrespectful. Even her critics, however, had to admit that the comment was funny because she caught everyone off guard.
