Don Jr\u2019s ex Kimberly Guilfoyle gets a kiss from Trump as she makes triumphant return to the White House<\/p>\n

Donald Trump<\/span>\u00a0Jr.\u2019s ex-fianc\u00e9e Kimberly Guilfoyle made a triumphant return to the\u00a0White House<\/span>\u00a0Monday \u2013 to mark\u00a0Greek Independence Day.<\/p>\n

In December, the president-elect\u00a0announced that he had chosen\u00a0Guilfoyle<\/span>, 56, to serve as his ambassador to\u00a0Greece<\/span>.<\/p>\n

It coincided with\u00a0DailyMail.com\u2019s exclusive report\u00a0<\/span>that Trump Jr. and\u00a0Guilfoyle had called off their years long engagement, as the Trump heir romanced Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson.<\/p>\n

Guilfoyle has yet to receive\u00a0Senate<\/span>\u00a0confirmation for the ambassadorship, which would send her across the Atlantic to Athens.<\/p>\n

But the president touted her love for Greece and his love for her as a person as he pulled her onstage Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u2018Also with us in person, a person that really is a great friend and been a great friend for a long time,\u2019 Trump said. \u2018I\u2019ve known this woman \u2013 although she\u2019s very young, yet \u2013 I\u2019ve known her for a long time.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018She came here and she loves our country and she loves Greece and now she\u2019s going to be the future ambassador to the Hellenic Republic, Kimberly Guilfoyle,\u2019 the president said to cheers. \u2018And I\u2019m going to say Kimberly, come on up and say a few words. Kimberly, come \u2013 she\u2019s really a good person.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018She represents the Greek culture very well,\u2019 Trump said of Guilfoyle, who is of\u00a0Puerto Rican and Irish heritage. \u2018I will tell you, she\u2019s very proud of it.\u2019<\/p>\n

Kimberly Guilfoyle concluded her remarks by outstretching her arms, a move\u00a0reminiscent of her viral 2020 Republican National Convention speech. She was tapped in December to be Trump\u2019s ambassador to Greece after her break-up was made public by DailyMail.com<\/p>\n

Trump greeted his son\u2019s ex-fianc\u00e9e with an air-kiss and a hug as she came to the podium in the White House\u2019s East Room.<\/p>\n

\u2018I tell you, this is the honor and privilege of a lifetime to serve this country and to serve a country that I love so much, that is so near and dear to my heart, with Greece and to do it under the guidance, the leadership, of the most important, powerful president that this country has ever seen,\u2019 said Guilfoyle, who was previously married to Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom.<\/p>\n

She then called Trump a \u2018man of integrity.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I know the measure of the man and his character and his strength, and I know his love for the people of Greece, the birthplace of democracy,\u2019 she continued.<\/p>\n

She said under Trump people would \u2018sleep well at night and wake up in the morning feeling hopeful and optimistic for a man that will fight for the economy of this country and of Greece, for religious liberty and freedom and for the enduring alliance of Greece and the United States.\u2019<\/p>\n

Guilfoyle made a Catholic cross over her face and then\u00a0raised her arms in a way that was\u00a0reminiscent\u00a0of her viral 2020 Republican National Convention speech<\/span>\u00a0in which she dramatically pledged that the \u2018best is yet to come.\u2019<\/p>\n

Her speech prompted cries of \u2018four more years\u2019 from the crowd \u2013 despite the fact that Trump is constitutionally limited to serving only two terms.<\/p>\n

Trump hasn\u2019t had trouble getting even his most inexperienced nominees across the line, and both parties traditionally use ambassadorships as a way to reward political allies.<\/p>\n

Skarlatos is a Republican\u00a0member of the Oregon House of Representatives but was one of the heroes of the 2015\u00a0Thalys train attack.<\/p>\n

\u2018Alek and his friends were on a train from Amsterdam to Paris when a bloodthirsty radical\u00a0 Islamic terrorist began shooting innocent people all over the train,\u2019 Trump recalled. \u2018In an act of tremendous valor, Alek and his comrades charged the gunman despite being completely unarmed and beat him into submission.\u2019<\/p>\n

Skarlatos recalled how during his last trip to the White House, Trump screened Clint Eastwood\u2019s\u00a0The 15:17 to Paris, which allowed\u00a0Skarlatos to reenact his role but this time as an actor.<\/p>\n

\u2018And I honestly was surprised because I thought the president would watch about 10 minutes and leave and he stayed for the whole movie, which I was very impressed by because we played ourselves in the movie and acting wasn\u2019t the best, but it was a very accurate movie,\u2019\u00a0Skarlatos said.<\/p>\n
